There are children everyday whose birthday goes uncelebrated because the family just cannot provide that extra little something for their child.  The Birthday Foundation encourages you to reach out to children in your own community by helping to keep local food pantries stocked with Birthday Grab Bags for those families who need a little extra help.

So...get your group together, make those bags, deliver them, and send us a picture along with your group name/hometown to share on our website!  Here's how...

• First things first...contact your local food pantry for dropoff hours/locations.
  

• Gather your group.
  

• Decide who brings what to the event.
  

• Items needed are: (Remember to be as
  

gender neutral as possible while assembling

bags to reach the maximum amount of children. 

Also, bags should be suitable for children

ages 3-12.)

1.  Empty Gift Bags

2.  Cake Mix and Frosting

      3.  Candles

4.  Gift

5.  Party Plates/Napkins

6.  Balloons

7.  Some goodies such as candy, party favors, etc.

8.  Disposable Camera

9.  Use your imagination!  Stuff those Birthday Grab Bags full!

• Deliver the bags!  Don't forget to get a picture to share with us!
  

• Submit a picture with a short description of your group, the total number of people who participated, the shetler you donated to, and the total number of bags donated.  We will put your information on our website along with the picture of your group!
  

Note to Scout Troops:  This project earns you a Birthday Foundation patch.  Please submit a picture of your troop assembling or delivering the bags, information on the food pantry you donated to, information about your troop, and $1.00 per patch.  Patches will be mailed within 7 business days and your troop info will be posted on our website!
